AN OPEN LETTER IN RESPONSE TO THE 14 SIGNATORIES OF THE ATENEO STATEMENT

”House Bill 5043 on “Reproductive Health and Population Development” has occasioned enormous debate in the Philippines and was recently the subject of a position paper drafted by 14 members of the faculty of the Ateneo de Manila University. In their statement, these faculty stated their belief that the bill adheres “to core principles of Catholic social teaching: the sanctity of human life, the dignity of the human person, the preferential option for the poor and vulnerable, integral human development, human rights, and the primacy of conscience.” They believe these conditions of Catholic social teaching are met in Bill 5043. We, the undersigned Catholic academics, assert, however, that these Ateneo faculty are gravely mistaken in their presentation of the Church’s teaching.”The primary reason for these Ateneo Faculty members´ support of the bill seems to stem from their deep commitment to the Church’s long-held “preferential option for the poor.” Their position paper describes, heart-wrenchingly, the situation of the poor in the Philippines. High maternal mortality rates, inadequate and uneven provision of basic health care, lack of birth attendants, and lack of reproductive health information: such situations place an undue burden on the poor, and in particular on women. These women, like all women, desire to determine the number and spacing of their children, and ensure that proper nutrition, health care, and education can be provided for each member of their families. As Catholics, we have a clear obligation to ensure that all persons, particularly the poor, have the ability to exercise these basic freedoms.”As Catholic academics, we agree that we must support civic and governmental initiatives that can aid the poor. Nevertheless, a Catholic cannot support the Reproductive Health and Population Development bill in good conscience, because the primary provisions of the bill not only fail to recognize and support the dignity of the poor, but also stand in direct opposition to Catholic social teaching. The bill focuses primarily on providing services to curb the number of children of the poor, while doing little to remedy their situation, provide necessary health care or establish the grounds for sound economic development.”A few citations will serve to show how clear and unambiguous is the Church’s care for the dignity of the person, and in particular the poor, and how critical it is for us to heed her teachings in addressing the circumstances facing the Philippines today.”Rerum Novarum opens with the powerful reminder that “Man precedes the state” and for that reason should not be subject to the state’s regulation of his private matters. Populorum Progressio reiterates this sentiment, stating: "No solution . . . is acceptable which does violence to man's essential dignity; those who propose such solutions base them on an utterly materialistic conception of man himself and his life. The only possible solution to this question is one which envisages the social and economic progress both of individuals and of the whole of human society, and which respects and promotes true human values."[1]
”Perhaps no document speaks more powerfully in opposition to the main ideas in this bill thanHumanae Vitae: “Therefore we base our words on the first principles of a human and Christian doctrine of marriage when we are obliged once more to declare that the direct interruption of the generative process already begun and, above all, all direct abortion, even for therapeutic reasons, are to be absolutely excluded as lawful means of regulating the number of children. Equally to be condemned, as the Magisterium of the Church has affirmed on many occasions, is direct sterilization, whether of the man or of the woman, whether permanent or temporary.”[2]
“In reply to the claim that reproductive rights, contraception and sterilization are required in order to help the poor limit their family size and thus aid the poor by reducing the numbers of mouths to feed,Humanae Vitae states: “Others ask on the same point whether it is not reasonable in so many cases to use artificial birth control if by so doing the harmony and peace of a family are better served and more suitable conditions are provided for the education of children already born. To this question we must give a clear reply. The Church is the first to praise and commend the application of human intelligence to an activity in which a rational creature such as man is so closely associated with his Creator. But she affirms that this must be done within the limits of the order of reality established by God.”[3]”Artificial contraception can never be accepted by the Church as an action in conformity with the dignity of the human person because “each and every marital act must of necessity retain its intrinsic relationship to the procreation of human life.”[4] Further, it is never valid to argue, “as a justification for sexual intercourse which is deliberately contraceptive, that a lesser evil is to be preferred to a greater one,[5]” as the authors of the position paper seem to suggest. While applauding efforts in the bill to provide information on both artificial and natural forms of family planning, the position paper then asserts that provision of contraceptives as essential medicines and fully covered sterilizations for indigent patients are measures that promote quality of life.[6] This statement directly contradicts Catholic teaching, which recognizes the use and promotion of artificial contraception and sterilization as intrinsically evil. Such actions can never be promoted or justified. “It is never lawful, even for the gravest reasons, to do evil that good may come of it – in other words, to intend directly something which of its very nature contradicts the moral order, and which must therefore be judged unworthy of man, even though the intention is to protect or promote the welfare of an individual, or a family or of society in general. Consequently it is a serious error to think that a whole married life of otherwise normal relations can justify sexual intercourse which is deliberately contraceptive and so intrinsically wrong.[7]”
“The Church does not hold these positions to punish the poor, but rather because she recognizes that the poor have the same inviolable dignity and rights that all human persons share. What the poor need is not contraception and sterilization, but to experience authentic solidarity with those who, in responding to their innate dignity, work with the poor to enable them to develop their skills, improve their circumstances and cultivate lives that are marked by both interior and exterior freedom. This places a much more radical demand on those of us to whom much has been given (Luke 12:48); we must live and work with the poor in order to identify and enable the resources they require to live lives of authentic freedom.”Finally, Humanae Vitae warns us that "[c]areful consideration should be given to the danger of this power[8] passing into the hands of those public authorities who care little for the precepts of the moral law. Who will blame a government which in its attempt to resolve the problems affecting an entire country resorts to the same measures as are regarded as lawful by married people in the solution of a particular family difficulty? Who will prevent public authorities from favoring those contraceptive methods which they consider more effective? Should they regard this as necessary, they may even impose their use on everyone. It could well happen, therefore, that when people, either individually or in family or social life, experience the inherent difficulties of the divine law and are determined to avoid them, they may give into the hands of public authorities the power to intervene in the most personal and intimate responsibility of husband and wife.”[9]
“These statements of the Church and Magisterium have been retained in all subsequent documents and reiterated in documents too numerous to cite here.[10] These few, but clear, passages make it abundantly clear that no Catholic can in good conscience support Bill 5043. This Bill violates the Church’s teachings in the gravest manner.”Maternal and ObGyn health“Finally, it must be emphasized that there are two sections in the bill that should be applauded and expanded. Both Section 6 and Section 7 call for the expansion of midwives and birth attendants, as well as greater access to obstetric care. Such measures are critical to reducing maternal mortality and making progress toward the Millennium Development Goals, particularly MDG 5 (maternal health) and MDG 4 (infant health). Healthy mothers are the critical factor in assuring infant and child health.[11]”Unfortunately, these two sections are the weakest in the bill. Most of the reproductive health proposals of the bill are mandatory and supported through financial means, as well as through the creation of new government agencies to assure implementation. Sections 6 and 7 of the Bill, which provide the only concrete health care and services to prevent or eliminate maternal mortality, are not mandatory, and the bill earmarks neither institutional support systems nor finances for their implementation. The POPCOM, which is established in Section 5 to implement and oversee the commitments outlined in the bill, has nine specific areas related to reproductive health and reproductive health services, yet no explicit mention of any responsibility in the area of maternal and ObGyn care. This most important section of the bill - and the only section actually consistent with Catholic social teaching - has been entirely neglected in the allocation of responsibilities to the agency established to oversee its implementation.“A bill that responds to the situation of the poor requires us to respond to their full range of needs in order to facilitate integral improvement in their quality of life. This necessitates the creation of laws that guarantee the adoption of measures, at the national and local levels, that will lead to improved access to authentic development including the provision of basic health care and access to quality education. It is measures such as these that will enable the poor to develop and thrive, and that will affirm and respect the dignity of each and every human person. This bill stops short of assuring implementation of needed medical care, while emphasizing the adoption of measures that deny the dignity and freedom of the poor. As Catholics we have a moral duty to defend and support the poor; we must demand more from our legislators and from ourselves, placing ourselves at the service of poor, ready to commit to the necessary work, sacrifice and solidarity needed to establish and build societies that will respond to authentic needs while respecting the dignity and freedom of every human person.”

[8] Paul VI is referring to the control of reproduction and artificial contraception when he talks of “this power” being put in the hands of the state. This passage follows directly on a passage in which he discusses the problems artificial contraception poses within the marital union, and then expands to the consideration of problems that will result if the state is given the authority to regulate conception and birth.
[9] Humanae Vitae, no 17
[10] The Church's teaching on marriage and human procreation affirms the "inseparable connection, willed by God and unable to be broken by man on his own initiative, between the two meanings of the conjugal act: the unitive meaning and the procreative meaning. Indeed, by its intimate structure, the conjugal act, while most closely uniting husband and wife, capacitates them for the generation of new lives, according to laws inscribed in the very being of man and of woman."(38) This principle, which is based upon the nature of marriage and the intimate connection of the goods of marriage, has well-known consequences on the level of responsible fatherhood and motherhood. "By safeguarding both these essential aspects, the unitive and the procreative, the conjugal act preserves in its fullness the sense of true mutual love and its ordination towards man's exalted vocation to parenthood."(39) The same doctrine concerning the link between the meanings of the conjugal act and between the goods of marriage throws light on the moral problem of homologous artificial fertilization, since "it is never permitted to separate these different aspects to such a degree as positively to exclude either the procreative intention or the conjugal relation." (40) Contraception deliberately deprives the conjugal act of its openness to procreation and in this way brings about a voluntary dissociation of the ends of marriage." What Makes You Beautiful - One Direction (The ADCS Cover)

The great encyclopedia of my time has this to say about the team building.

". .Team building is a philosophy of job design in which employees are viewed as members of interdependent teams instead of as individual workers. The overall goals of team building are to increase the teams understanding of team dynamics and improve how the team works together. Unlike working as a group, working as a team incorporates group accountability rather than individual accountability and results in a collective work product. . "

ADCS (Accenture Data Center Service) Team held its first ever team building which is quite far from Manila at  Crystal Beach Resort, San Narciso, Zambales on August 4-5, 2012.

This is one of a kind experience that one cannot forget on his entire existence. I thought everything will be just like our team building before. I thought, AGAIN this is just a waste of time for all of us..as if we can say  "we can have it by our own.. or "its not a team building at all". All of those doubts were gone when we started to go across the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx). The weather was not so good that time, a heavy rain is keep on bumping us from time to time and we are actually passing through the flooded roads. The rain gets even angry as we approach the City of Subic as we even experience a ZERO VISIBILITY from the WIND SHIELD of the LOSER car of our Team Lead (joke lang po. . .hahaha) but as we go against the bad weather, we're able to find the  the rainbow when we reached the center of Zambales and after a little bit more time, we're able to reached  the resort and the rest is HISTORY.

At present, this is the most unforgettable team building ever happened to me and maybe the happiest team building of our team.  All of this of course cannot be happened without the help of our INDUSTRIOUS ORGANIZER Mr. Lyndon Sabio

and the undying support of each and everyone of US.

About the CRYSTAL BEACH RESORT?? I will highly recommend it to all of you guys.. hope you can also go there at least once in your entire life.. i swear.. its worth it.

And Having say that, all of our ACTIVITY there was SUMMARIZED in a SINGLE MUSIC VIDEO which i want all of you guys to watch.. The actors are the whole member of the our team. but the acting BOYBAND are ME (the lead Role) Marlon, JD and Richael while the CHIKAS are MITCH, EI, MARU and ANNA.

Please watch it and dont forget to comment,Like and Share it. Thanks everyone for dropping by at seductiveemo's blog. Have great Day. . . Love You All.

The Confession from my OLD blog http://rodel.i.ph

Actually I really don’t know how to start because while I’m writing this article I’m still in the process of moving on.
In fact my problem is just very simple yet complicated., but as what is my objective of having this blog I hope that somehow you will be able to find something educative here that you can use and apply to your own life. I hope that through this article I can help other people who have the same problem with me.  I hope that they will be able to relate their own experience to me that once in their life they made a BIG MISTAKE by LOVING someone too much.
And here is my story. . .
I used to have a girlfriend before. I love her very much and I feel very comfortable with her. I want to be with her always whenever there is a chance because we are both working. It is our usual routine for several months until I met someone who really touched my heart and made me feel out of love with my current girlfriend. At first I didn’t entertain this feeling because I don’t want to lose my girlfriend in the first place but I really feel guilty because no matter how hard I tried to avoid it, is the stronger I feel blameworthy about it.
I have no idea about the feeling of being a two timer because I’m not that kind of person but this time, I really feel I am. I feel so confused about the things that are happening to me. I even asked myself why it is happening. My girlfriend loves me so much but I am feeling out love and I’m sure that it’s because of this person.
Everything goes normal until the time came that I can no longer carry the guilty feeling that I have in my heart. My conscience is already bothering me about the situation and I can no longer hold on to this kind of circumstances.

JUNE 12. 2010
I am a member of a Catholic Organizational Ministry and this date is very important to me because this is my graduation or what we so called the “Lord’s Day” from this program. I prayed a lot during the ceremony and ask Him to lead me in the right track. I realized many things after the ceremony and you know what I did??
Yes! I broke up with my girlfriend as a result of my meditation.
I know it’s hard for my girlfriend to accept my decision, but what can I do?  I really feel out of love and  it’s all my fault. I know that I hurt my girlfriend but I also know that someday, somehow she will be able to understand that what I did is just the best thing I can to be honest to her and to put everything in right channel.

JUNE 13, 2010
I know its bad but this is also the time of our formal beginning as a couple.
I can’t understand but I’m so happy. I felt so loved and I really feel in love more than I felt before to my ex-girlfriend. I found the happiness to this person which I never felt before. I know this is not what I suppose to do or to be but I can’t fight this feeling anymore and everything goes the way I want it.
I did everything for this person. I gave even the things that I can’t believe I will be able to give like admitting everything just to make this person realize that I am really into our relationship. I even let this person know my access codes in all social networking sites that I am a member of, as well as my user id and password in my UZZAP Account.
I can never forget how this person prohibits me from being exposed to other people who can take me away. I found it very cheesy and “nakakakilig” because it might be one of the proofs that this person really loves me.
I found our relationship very tight so I decided to risk every love that I have for this person. I even say:
“bahala na basta ang alam ko mahal na mahal kita. ABANTE ako hon, HINDI ako PAPAYAG na mawala ka. IPAGLALABAN kita ano man ang MANGYARI”.
I can never forget how this person responds. I quote:
“Abante ako hon, hindi ako papaya na mawala ka. IKAW ANG NAG PAPASAYA SA AKIN NGAYON”
I never thought that this line hides something in its last word which is NOW/NGAYON, but I did not put much attention to that; instead I became contented when this person directly says:
                “I LOVE YOU PO TALAGA.”

I have a pending job application to a highly respected and admired company in the US that time and after all the things that I did wrong specially to my xgf, I still feel blessed because I was able to know through my recruiter that my starting date will be on June 21, 2010. I’m so happy when I heard that news.
But before that date this person told me that she is going somewhere to fix something. and because I love this person so much I let this person do it. Although we still have time to communicate during the process, I never thought that letting this person doing it will be the reason for this person to FEEL OUT OF LOVE FROM ME ALSO.
THIS IS THE MOST AND BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER DID IN MY WHOLE LIFE.
“After the word ” LIFE”, I honestly stop writing this article to give time for me to cry and think about the decisions I made in my life and I’m right I never ever made a decision like this before. A decision that almost killing me right now”.

I think and I know that this is already the revenge of KARMA for me because everything is just happening the way I left my gf before and it seems like a repetition of my previous mistake.
Again, everything goes normal. This person even called me via phone of other person that I do not know, saying everything is okay bout us, letting me expect that  everything is fine and we are still strong. But I think DESTINY is JUST that unpredictable or talagang mapagbiro.

AND AT LAST ON JUNE 25, 2010
At around 6:30pm when I am going home from work, I received a text message from this person saying that there is a lot of things that she realized in the place where she went out. This is the exact text that I received,
“dito na ako sa amin. Xory pero narealize ko na hindi pala kita mahal. Tatanggapin ko na lang lahat ng galit mo. Xori talaga.”
After that I called this person and I was given a chance to have  5mins conversation.
A lot of questions is coming out from my mind such as why? How come? What did I do wrong? I don’t even deserve to be treated like this.
But everything is just FINAL. There is nothing more I can do except accepting the revenge of KARMA.
I feel lost and I really cant find myself. I feel out of this world as I read the other messages that this person is sending me.
I fell regret, loser, gagu, tanga etc.
I even hurt myself by giving a strong strike on our wall at home that caused me a painful wound but I just ignore it. I am crying a lot until my sister come before me and hug me tight.
I told everything to her and she asked me to be brave and just focus in my goals in life. Everything will be set accordingly in the right  time.
“You can’t take that away or forget everything in just an instant but as you go along the diverse path of our journey in this world you will be able to find the answers of every question that you are asking right now. Maybe not today or tomorrow or even next week but God wont give us challenge that we cant overcome just pray to Him and ask for His help. He will neither  leave you nor forsake you as He promised.
Just be thankful that as early as this you found out her real personality. “
I am crying so hard while listening to my sister’s advice and cried much harder when she added.
“There are only two things that I want you to do as an action plan for your problem.
FIRST is ACCEPTANCE. And the second one is FORGIVENESS.
Accept everything that happened and take it as part of your battle as a new joiner of the world which we called LOVE. Accept the fact that there is nothing permanent in this world except changes.
If you accept all those things that I mentioned, don’t just try but FORGIVE. Forgive yourself first and at the last part of the story FORGIVE this PERSON also.
Once you did those two things I SWEAR TO YOU EVERYTHING WILL BE SET ACCORDINGLY. PROMISE!
And after that I went to my room and I cried the whole night thinking of every memory that we have and at the same time say GOODBYE to this person..
at present.. i cant deny the truth that im still in the process of moving on because everything is just fresh but im looking forward for the time that I WILL BE ABLE TO FORGET THIS TRAGEDY , AND IF THERE IS ANOTHER CHANCE TO LOVE AGAIN.. I WILL STILL DO THE SAME THING BUT THIS TIME. WISER!!
and that ends my story.
  My Conclusion
We really can’t deny the fact that when we are in love we are being selfish and fool at the same time.
Selfish in the way that we don’t want the one we love to snatch by others, coz we feel that this person is one of our belongings as if it only belongs to us. And fool that we gave everything even we don’t have assurance of what might happen in the future, what we all know is that we are in love and we forget everything.
In my story I loved too much that I forgot to have at least a bit for myself. That’s the reason why I feel very LOST today. I don’t know where or how I will be able to start all over again. I even don’t know how to fix myself or do I have to let someone fix it for me? I don’t know.  I’m still looking for myself, and I hope I will be given a chance to find myself again.

AND TO YOU LMPM I only wish you the best with your new love as what you insisted to me the last time we talked.  I hope that everything goes strong and let the chain stop so that no one will suffer anymore because ONE is ENOUGH, TWO is TOO MUCH. Good luck to you and your new ONE.

And to all of you my dear readers I hope and I prayed that you will not do what I did before because it’s hard to overcome a challenge like this. And I hope and I pray that somehow you picked a lesson from my story. I wish you all the best guys in your family and friends. Thank you for reading and visiting my blog.

THE ONE MOVING ON,

Please BEWARE of BUS MODOS... Please be safe...

MODUS OPERANDI SA BUS (Metro Manila)

AKALA KO AKO LANG!...UN PALA MERON PANG IBA NA NABIBIKTIMA NG GANITONG SISTEMA...PAANO NA KUNG UN LANG ANG NATITIRA MONG PERA AT MALAYO PA ANG PUPUNTAHAN MO...kawawa ka naman....maglalakad ka...(based on my own experience sa isang aircon bus....)

So, pagdating ng VV Soliven... lumipat ako ng upuan (3rows before the driver , at the right side of the bus).

So...after one month...nakalimutan ko na ung nangyari....

Last October 30, 2007 (Tuesday) around 6:15pm...pauwi na ako galing ortigas going to makati (guadalupe tulay)...

After sometimes..Here is the EMPIRE Reunion..

According to a famous dictionary: FRIENDS are the persons known well to another and regarded with liking, affection, and loyalty. But what really is a FRIEND for you? well maybe defining friend is very hard for us because there is no such word/s that can really define friends in terms of emotional aspect.. However, what might be your preference and consideration in defining the word FRIENDS; for me, its simply my LOVED ONES... they are my friends..

And having say that.. i got another chance to be reunited my college friends.. last January 21, 2011.. Well, actually we've been planning this many times before, but the destiny seems to be always against us, that's why We're not able to execute that. But last week seems to be our lucky day because our schedule made it to the same direction and im so happy that we it goes the way we planned it. Here are some of our picture in Mall of Asia where we spent out reunion...

To Shiela, Fely, Elvin and May Ann.. Thanks a lot for time guys... I really really enjoy it. Hope to see you again the soonest.. Love you all
